Two deaths are the final toll from two traffic accidents that occurred on Wednesday night in the districts of La Chorrera and Capira, in the province of West Panama. The first traffic accident was recorded at the Perequeté bridge in La Chorrera, where a sedan and a motorcycle carrying two people collided. As a result of this accident, the motorcycle driver—a man approximately 50 years old—died, while his companion—a woman approximately 41 years old—was taken to the Nicolás Solano Regional Hospital in serious condition. Hours later, on the Inter-American highway at the height of Villa Carmen, in the Capira district, a man who was trying to cross the road was run over by the driver of a vehicle heading toward the capital city. Paramedics from the Unified Emergency Management System (SUME) went to the scene of the accident and determined the death of the pedestrian.
